SML research internships range from biological research to education and outreach to sustainable engineering, and offer exciting opportunities to build your resume in a field environment. SML hosts the Shoals Research Apprenticeship, geared towards undergraduates who are looking for the opportunity to build their research skillset.
Shoals Marine Laboratory research internships are specifically designed for undergraduate college students over the summer break. Research interns work directly with faculty mentors and SML scientists to conduct research experiments and projects, combining new areas of discovery with ongoing, long-term monitoring. Internships vary from 2-10 weeks in length. Interns receive a stipend and room and board is included.
